Job summary

Horizon Contracting Group in the Okanagan region is seeking an experienced Field Manager for Landscape Maintenance. This full-time role leads field crews, ensures quality work, and supports client sites with strong leadership in the field and office alike.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate planning, and coach staff while maintaining safety and contract compliance. A company vehicle and tech package are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in landscape maintenance or related field.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role leading crews.
• Valid truck and trailer driving experience is required.
• Ability to read landscape drawings and contract scopes.
• Strong customer service and site-facing communication skills.
• Effective planning, time management, and multi-priority handling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations and assign goals and priorities to crews.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and contract requirements.
• Conduct site visits and quality inspections to maintain standards.
• Support planning and ensure crews meet schedules and expectations.
• Address labour, scheduling and site concerns as they arise.
• Lead daily meetings and frontline communications with crews.
• Train and onboard foremen and field staff; support reviews and coaching.
• Ensure reporting, site photos, forms, and documentation are completed.
• Maintain vehicle, equipment, and inventory condition and inspections.

Landscape Maintenance (OKV) Field Manager

Field Manager - Landscape Maintenance

Full-Time | Permanent | $65,000-$75,000/year

At Horizon Contracting Group , great landscapes start with great teams. We're looking for an experienced Field Manager to lead our landscape maintenance teams, ensuring our crews have the support, training, and direction they need to deliver exceptional work.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being in the field, developing people, solving problems, and making sure our clients and sites receive the highest level of service.

What You’ll Do

Field Leadership & Quality

• Oversee daily field operations and assign goals and priorities to crews


• Ensure maintenance work meets Horizon's quality standards and contract requirements


• Conduct regular site visits and quality control inspections


• Support monthly planning and ensure crews are meeting schedules and expectations


• Address labour, scheduling, and site concerns as they arise

Team Development

• Lead daily morning meetings and regular crew communications


• Train and onboard new Foremen and field staff


• Support performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary processes


• Assign and follow up on training and development opportunities


• Create a positive, supportive, and accountable team environment

Client & Operations Support

• Maintain regular communication with clients and address site concerns


• Provide updates on site progress and expectations


• Support communication between field teams and management


• Ensure reporting, site photos, forms, and documentation are completed accurately


• Oversee vehicle, equipment, and inventory condition and ensure required inspections are completed

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of progressive experience in the landscape industry


• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience


• Experience driving a truck and trailer


• Strong understanding of landscape maintenance, contract scopes, and specifications


• Ability to read landscape drawings


• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills


• Strong organizational and time management abilities


• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, iPhone applications, payroll software, and iPads


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


• A natural ability to coach, lead, and bring out the best in others

Post-secondary education in an industry-related field and certifications such as Red Seal, CHT, CLM, ISA, Heavy Trailer Endorsement, or Fall Protection are considered assets.

• $65,000-$75,000 annual salary based on experience


• 20 days paid time off (15 vacation + 5 sick days)

This role combines office and field work. You'll spend time in the field, supporting crews and visiting sites, as well as completing planning, reporting, training, and administrative work in the office.
