Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a Food Services Worker on a temporary part-time basis for approximately one year, with potential extension. Responsibilities include meal delivery, portioning and serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas.

The candidate should have a Food Handler Safety Certificate, familiarity with food safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or is currently enrolled in a recognized Food Service Worker Program.
• Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
• Some experience in food services Industry.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English; Chinese language ability is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, delivers and serves meals according to client preferences, dietary orders and safety standards.
• Prepares and delivers nourishment and special orders according to diet orders and client preferences.
• Wraps, labels, and stores food items.
• Cleans, washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans and equipment.
• Cleans production area, stove, fridge, dish and wash areas; maintains cleanliness.
• Performs regular cleaning duties including floor cleaning as assigned.
• Follows risk management policies and health and safety standards.
• Rotates and inventories stock; reports replenishment needs.
• Receives deliveries and verifies accuracy; reports discrepancies.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.**Food Services Worker - Temporary Part-Time for approximately 1 year, with possibility of extension**Responsible for the delivery of meals, portioning and serving dessert, dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing of cooking equipment, pots, pan and small dishware as well as general and special cleaning in the kitchen in accordance with government and organization policies and standards.**Responsibilities:*** Sets up, delivers and serves meals according to client preference, prescribed portion sizes and diet order in an accurate, timely, orderly and safe manner. Prepares and delivers nourishment and special orders according to diet order and client preferences* Wraps, date-labels, and stores food items* Cleans, washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, dishwares and cooking equipment efficiently and thoroughly as assigned* Cleans production area, stove, refrigeration area, dish and pot washing areas, dining room and servery and maintains them in a safe, clean and organized condition.
