We have an immediate, rewarding career opportunity for a Food Service Worker to join our team at Ravensview, part of Homewood Health, the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada.

Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma, and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, it provides a comfortable and safe environment with serene ocean views, spacious rooms, welcoming common areas, and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counselors, and 24-hour nursing professionals.

As a Food Service Worker, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Portioning and serving food and beverages within dining room and cafeteria operations
  • Making beverages and food items such as tea, coffee, toast, sandwiches, and salads
  • Washing, peeling, storing, and preparing vegetables and fruits
  • Preparing items such as meat, fish, and poultry by grinding, flouring, and breading
  • Preparing food items by combining, mixing, and blending ingredients; measuring, grating, and blending food ingredients
  • Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils; operating dishwashing machines
  • Stacking clean dishes and utensils; setting, clearing, and cleaning tables
  • Performing cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and spot washing walls
  • Cleaning, operating, and maintaining equipment according to safety and sanitation standards
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and personal hygiene
What We're Looking For
  • At least one year of food service experience
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to food and equipment
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide courteous and efficient customer service in a team environment
  • Willingness to multitask, work under pressure, and be flexible with hours
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Homewood Health offers a competitive compensation model. Pay rates for this position range from $19 to $22 per hour, influenced by factors such as experience, qualifications, and performance.
