A leading healthcare provider seeks a Food Service Worker responsible for meal preparation and sanitation tasks in a hospital environment. Candidates are required to communicate effectively and manage workload efficiently. This role involves ensuring dietary accuracy in meals served to patients, highlighting the importance of teamwork and quality service.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction of the Cook or Food Service Supervisor, plates meals for patients/residents and staff, washes and scrubs pots, pans and related dish washing duties; prepares and portions therapeutic diet items including nourishment's; measures and combines food and beverage ingredients by methods such as grinding, blending, slicing, dicing and/or puree; and checks patient/residents meals to ensure dietary accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGrade 10 plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
