Base Pay Range
$17.00/hr - $20.83/hr
Duties
- Takes customer orders, prepares order forms, collects money, operates cash register, transmits orders to cooks, and receives orders back from cooks.
- Sets up steam tables, dining tables, and side service stands with hot or cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, bread, butter, and beverages.
- Breaks down and cleans the area after meals.
- Prepares dining area for service by cleaning tables, chairs, counters, and stocking drinks and utensils.
- Operates dishwashers and slicers, performs maintenance and cleaning.
- Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs bowls, pots, and pans.
- Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as cleaning ceilings, grills, exhaust hoods, and kitchen equipment, as well as washing floors and walls, and sanitizing garbage cans.
- Unloads food from delivery trucks if needed.
- Transfers trash from work areas to disposal.
- Prepares vegetables and fruits for cooking and serving.
- Prepares cold sandwiches and salads using prepared ingredients.
- Fills and stocks dressings, sauces, beverages, and utensils, maintaining cleanliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Completes work independently following instructions, with supervision checking for quality and timeliness.
- Uses judgment in task sequencing and performs tasks with multiple steps.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards for food handling and cleaning.
- Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 40 pounds.
- Requires continuous standing, walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
- May work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
- Work environment includes high temperatures, humidity, noise, and potential hazards like wet floors, hot liquids, and sharp blades.
Requirements
- Must complete a background check with favorable results.
- Shift work including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events may be required.
- Pre-employment physical examination may be necessary.
- Must obtain a Food Handlers Certification/Card.
Qualifications
Open to everyone. Applicants must demonstrate experience following simple instructions, using hand tools, operating machines, and knowledge of sanitation standards. Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and stand/walk for long periods is required. Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Education cannot be substituted for experience in this role.
