Location: Cornwall

Duration: Permanent, part-time (22.5 hrs/week) with flexibility for every second weekend and additional evening shifts.

Southbridge Care Homes is expanding its Food Services department. We are seeking a Food Services Supervisor to join our enthusiastic team at Southbridge Cornwall.

Reporting to the Food Service Manager, the Food Services Supervisor will collaborate with the FSM to ensure smooth operations of the food service department, meeting the nutritional needs of residents. The role involves joint responsibility for inventory management, meal/snack planning, human resources, kitchen operations, clinical nutrition, and other departmental aspects.

RESPONSIBILITIES – In conjunction with FSM:

  • Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality dietary services for residents.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement principles, best practices, standardize workflow, performance, and dietary requirements to comply with legislative standards.
  • Supervise, select, and motivate dietary staff; foster teamwork and optimize staff capabilities.
  • Ensure food preparation, service, and storage areas meet Public Health standards.
  • Maintain records according to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including menus and therapeutic diets.
  • Consult with residents, families, staff, government officials, and professionals regarding care and departmental activities.
  • Participate in budgeting and manage the food and supplies budget.
  • Complete clinical/PCC documentation for residents as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate menus and resident records in MealSuite.
Qualifications

  • Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or registration as a Dietitian.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage staff effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing employees in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Experience with PCC and MealSuite is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Customer-focused with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
