Job summary

Japanese Village in Edmonton is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee kitchen staff and front-of-house operations, ensuring quality and timely service.

You will train staff, maintain safety standards, manage schedules, handle customer concerns, and help control costs. This full-time, on-site role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in food service supervisory roles.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation and manage budget/cost estimates.
  • Hire food service staff and schedule shifts to meet service needs.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
  • Prepare and submit reports and food order summaries for chef.
