Job description

Southbridge Care Homes are currently looking to expand our Food Services department. We are seeking a Part-Time Food Services Supervisor to join our enthusiastic team at Southbridge Cornwall.

Reporting and Responsibilities

The Food Services Supervisor will report to the Food Service Manager and will work closely with them to ensure the smooth operation of the food service department. They will be responsible for meeting the nutritional needs of residents, managing inventory, meal and snack planning, human resources, kitchen operations, and clinical nutrition.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan, organize, and provide high-quality dietary services for residents.
  2. Apply continuous quality improvement principles, best practices, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  3. Supervise, motivate, and lead dietary staff to ensure teamwork, productivity, and optimal use of staff capabilities.
  4. Ensure all food preparation, service, and storage areas meet Public Health standards.
  5. Maintain records according to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including menus.
  6. Liaise with residents, families, staff, government officials, and professionals regarding care needs and department activities.
  7. Participate in budgeting and manage the food and supplies budget.
  8. Complete clinical/PCC documentation for residents as assigned.
  9. Maintain accuracy of menus and resident information in Mealsuite.
Qualifications
  1. Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or registration as a Dietitian.
  2. Strong leadership skills to manage staff effectively.
  3. Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  4. Experience managing employees in a unionized setting is an asset.
  5. Experience with PCC and Mealsuite is an asset.
  6. Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices and legislation.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  8. Customer-focused with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
