Alberta Health Services in Valleyview is seeking a Food Service I to perform routine food preparation, portioning, delivery and customer service in the Food Services department. You will work under the Food Services Supervisor, handling meals for Long Term Care residents and supporting various kitchen tasks.

Requirements include Grade 10 or equivalent, ability to lift up to 46 lbs and push/pull meal carts up to 250 lbs; punctual, reliable and able to stand during shifts.

Under the general supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, this position performs routine food service duties such as preparation, portioning, assembly, delivery, distribution, disassembly, cleaning, operating industrial food service equipment, inventory stocking, cash transactions and customer service in all functional areas of the department. Food Service delivery is provided to Long Term Care residents. This position must be independent and able to make some decisions as a supervisor is not on duty at all times.

Your typical duties may include packaging and portioning food items, preparing food according to set guidelines and menus, serving meals to patients and customers, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment, dishes, tables, and serving areas.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
