Job summary

Dexterra Group is hiring a Food Services Associate / Cashier in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will deliver friendly customer service in a fast-paced food service setting, handle cash payments, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

You will greet customers, assist with orders, operate cash registers, and work with the team to ensure smooth service. This is a short-term, Monday–Friday role with approximately 3 hours per day and a potential extension.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years experience in food service and customer service.
• Friendly and dependable with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle cash and operate payment systems accurately.
• Basic math skills for transactions.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and standing long periods.
• Monday–Friday schedule; ~3 hours per shift; 10–12 week term with potential extension.
• Must be able to lift 25–30 lbs for stock handling.

As a Food Services Associate / Cashier, reporting to the Cashier supervisor, the Food Service Associate/Cashier is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and handling cash and electronic payment transactions accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with menu selections.
• Operate cash registers, process payments, and issue receipts.
• Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including wiping tables and restocking supplies.
• Follow all food safety protocols and health regulations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service.

• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in food service and customer service is required.
• Friendly and dependable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle cash and operate payment systems accurately.
• Basic math skills.

• This is a Monday-Friday position. Averaging approximately 3 hours per shift. This is 10-12 week term position with the possibility of extension.
• Must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs to put away and retrieve stock.
