This role is within Cargill’s agricultural supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, produce, and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Technician will support quality assurance and product safety through testing, data collection, process documentation, and knowledge transfer. You will work alongside a supervisor, performing routine duties across various focus areas.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist scientists or technicians by collecting and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and using scientific equipment.
2. Provide support to laboratory personnel, conduct quality checks, assist in auditing results, and maintain customer specifications.
3. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and operational procedures.
4. Attend audits and prepare necessary documentation.
5. Provide basic specification training, handle customer claims, and update specification manuals.
6. Handle basic issues under supervision and escalate complex problems.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Instrumentation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Knowledge of food or protein industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Physical ability to lift 20-30 pounds and climb stairs.
• Experience with good laboratory practices.
• Legal right to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant experience.
• Understanding of good manufacturing practices and food safety.
