Job summary

FPS Food Process Solutions Corporation in Canada seeks a Food Process Development Scientist to join our R&D team and drive improvements in processing technologies for industrial food manufacturing.

You will design and validate processing procedures, conduct pilot-scale trials, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions. Travel may be required to support projects globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science or related field.
• Strong understanding of food safety systems and quality management principles.
• Experience with HACCP, SQF, ISO standards, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with statistical analysis software and experimental design methods.
• Pilot-plant and commercial-scale food processing trials experience.
• Experience supporting new product development, validation, and commercialisation.
• Strong technical writing, project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally for customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D activities focused on improving food processing technologies.
• Participate in design and execution of R&D, pilot-scale, and commercial validation studies.
• Evaluate new processing technologies and recommend improvements.
• Develop, validate and optimize processing procedures to improve quality and yield.
• Conduct testing, pilot-scale trials, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical reports and validation protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales and service teams.
