Job summary

IKEA Groupe in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Food Operations Manager I to lead the Food team and drive operational excellence. You will oversee front-of-house and back-of-house activities, ensuring food safety and a high-quality customer experience across all food areas.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and collaboration with store leaders to achieve store performance. Availability includes evenings and weekends in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant operations.
  • Strong experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams.
  • Strong customer focus with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Results-oriented with strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and build strong relationships.
  • Comfortable making decisions and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open to learning and contributing within a retail setting.
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Food team to achieve operational and commercial goals.
  • Ensure food safety, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met.
  • Drive operational consistency through clear routines, coaching, and follow-up.
  • Deliver an inspiring and seamless customer experience across all food areas.
  • Monitor and act on key business KPIs, including sales, waste, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, and effective stock management.
  • Partner with store leaders to support overall store performance and customer experience.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging environment for co-workers.
  • Lead by example and role model IKEA values and ways of working.
