Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a Food & Beverage Event Supervisor to oversee catered events at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and support premium hospitality services at the SOEC. Reporting to the Catering Manager and F&B Manager, you will ensure events run smoothly and guests enjoy exceptional service.

This part-time role pays an hourly CAD 19.00–23.00, with pension matching for eligible staff. The position is located at OVG’s Penticton venues and remains open until October 30, 2026.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of supervisory experience in restaurant, catering, hospitality or events.
• Valid Food Safe certification is required.
• Valid Serving It Right certification required.
• Strong understanding of food & beverage service standards and guest relations.
• Experience handling cash, POS systems, and inventory procedures.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food and beverage service during catered events, banquets, and premium hospitality functions.
• Lead event setups and breakdowns, ensuring spaces are prepared to company standards.
• Supervise frontline staff and assist with training, inventory management, and special projects.
• Ensure guests receive exceptional service by responding promptly to requests and addressing concerns professionally.
• Serve food and beverages, including alcohol, while ensuring compliance with liquor regulations and responsible service practices.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards.
• Support cash handling, POS transactions, and event reconciliation procedures.
• Assist management in delivering successful events and day-to-day food and beverage operations.

Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Food & Beverage Event Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing catered events at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and supporting premium hospitality services at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Reporting to the Catering Manager and Food & Beverage Manager, you will help ensure events are delivered seamlessly while providing exceptional guest experiences. This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$23.00 CAD

About The Venue

The South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) Complex is the South Okanagan’s premier destination for sports, entertainment, conventions, and community events. Home to the 5,000-seat South Okanagan Events Centre, the 60,000 sq. ft. Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, Memorial Arena, and Okanagan Hockey School facilities—our nine-acre campus hosts everything from concerts and sporting events to trade shows, conferences, banquets, and celebrations of all sizes.
