Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a part-time Ticket Scanner to operate mainly at the South Okanagan Events Centre and occasionally at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. The role is event-based, with most shifts lasting 2-4 hours and standing throughout the shift. Compensation is hourly at $18.00-$22.00 CAD, with pension matching as a benefit.

This position will remain open until November 6, 2026, and requires reliable, friendly, and professional guest service for live events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with a computerized ticketing or POS system is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and clear communication are essential.
• Ability to maintain accurate records when required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts in uniform and ready to work.
• Scan guest tickets and direct guests to seating areas.
• Greet guests and help manage guest flow at the venue.
• Listen to guest questions and requests and provide service.
• Deliver courteous customer service to all guests.
• Address guest concerns calmly and escalate to a supervisor when needed.
• Familiarize yourself with the venue to answer questions or direct guests.
• Identify and report ticketing issues to management.
• Perform other duties to support ticketing and scanning processes.

Position Summary

The Ticket Scanner works primarily at the South Okanagan Events Centre as well as occasionally at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. This position will assist guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner with ticket scanning as applicable. This is an event-based part-time position. Most shifts are 2-4 hours. This position requires standing during the shift.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$22.00 CAD.

Responsibilities

• Arrives for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work
• Scans guest tickets and directs guest to the appropriate area of the venue for their seating
• Welcomes guests to the venue and directs them to expedite the flow of guest traffic
• Attentively listens to guests’ questions and requests
• Provides kind and courteous customer service for all guests
• Listens to guest concerns and complaints in a calm and patient manner and resolves issue to the satisfaction of guest or, if necessary, contacts Supervisor/Manager to assist guest
• Become familiar with the venue/event in order to accurately answer guest questions or direct them to the appropriate area
• Watches for ticketing issues and reports them to management
• Other duties as necessary to assist with the ticket selling and scanning process
