Fort McMurray Composite High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Junior High VIP Teacher.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience teaching in a junior high school setting, with knowledge in all curricular areas
• Ability to program to a variety of levels for student's individualized needs
• Monitoring Behaviour patterns of children and applying appropriate interventions.
• An ability to develop, implement and monitor IPPs for students with cognitive disabilities
• Proven ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Flexible team player who is able to adapt if needed.
• Effective organization skills and classroom management.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining regular positive communications with parents.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic.
• Be a reflective practitioner.
• Ability to utilize technology as an instructional tool.
• An ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans for students with additional needs.
• Possesses a strong ability to create a classroom environment characterized by inclusion, equity, and differentiated instruction.
• A base knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques.
• Has demonstrated an ability to support and meet the needs of FNMI and EAL students in the classroom.
• A willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom
• A commitment to continuous professional growth.
• Knowledge of the Collaborative Response Model is an asset.

All candidates must hold an Alberta Teaching Certificate, have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills
