Job summary

Horizon North, a Dexterra Group company, seeks a Pastry Chef for remote camp environments in Nunavik to oversee large-scale pastry production. You will manage inventory, ensure quality, and meet production targets while working under pressure in a challenging, remote setting.

The role requires a Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary Arts and 5 years of pastry experience, with bilingual French/English a plus. Competitive salary with travel and rotation benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality, Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of pastry production in high-volume food service environments.
• Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
• Previous experience in a remote camp environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage pastry inventory and rotate stock.
• Produce sponge cakes, sheet cakes and other pastry bases.
• Prepare pies, pizzas, and a variety of dough products.
• Produce Jell-O, coulis, creams and other dessert items.
• Ensure health and safety standards and proper dating/labeling of products.
