Job summary

Kent Building Supplies Inc. is hiring a Sales Associate in Halifax to help customers select flooring products and deliver excellent service. You will engage with customers, understand needs, and provide recommendations while supporting other departments as needed.

This role emphasizes sales, customer service, and product knowledge with cross-training across store departments. Candidates should be able to lift 55 lbs and work days/evening/weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn product information and assist customers.

Responsibilities

As a Sales Associate, you will help the customers to fully understand their needs and assist in selecting the right products for their requirements. As knowledgeable sales professionals, sales associates can make recommendations which solve customers' problems and enhance their shopping experience.

This position will be focused on sales, customer service and product knowledge within the flooring department, but will also be cross-trained in other departments within the store.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
• Clarify and understand customers’ needs and take them to the best solution(s) for their projects
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
• Produce quotes, material lists and follows up
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently
• Continually learn about products and market conditions
