Job summary

Kent Building Supplies is looking for a Flooring Associate to help customers understand their needs and assist in selecting the right flooring products. You will drive sales, share product knowledge, and maintain awareness of current promotions.

The role requires engaging customers, producing quotes, and ensuring high safety and service standards. Candidates should have sales and customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift 55 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and teamwork required.
  • Experience in sales and customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Willingness to work days, evenings, and weekends on rotating shifts.
  • Ability to learn and use the D635 system to process orders.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.

As a Flooring Associate, you will help customers fully understand their needs and assist in selecting the right products for their requirements. As knowledgeable sales professionals, sales associates can make recommendations that solve customers' problems and enhance their shopping experience.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
  • Clarify and understand customers’ needs and take them to the best solutions for their projects
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
  • Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
  • Produce quotes, material lists and follow up
  • Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
  • Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently
  • Continually learn about products and market conditions
