Job summary

LandSea is hiring a Kitchen Helper to support the crew aboard the MV Isabelle Floatel near Squamish, BC. The role involves assisting cooks with basic food preparation, keeping kitchen and dining areas clean, and helping with service and inventory.

Applicants should have at least 2 years’ hotel or cruise ship experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work long shifts, weekends and holidays. The position offers union wages under UNITE HERE!

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a hotel or cruise ship.
• Ability to work long shifts, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with basic food preparation, including portioning and service.
• Support kitchen and dining staff in cleaning and resetting tables.
• Assist in the kitchen during production as required.
• Maintain adequate stock of food and beverages and minimize waste.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen work areas and equipment, and operate dishwashers.
• Wash, sweep, mop floors, and manage trash disposal.
• Manage and stock inventory for kitchens, dining areas, and related stations.
• Ensure courteous and friendly interactions with customers and staff.
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.
