Responsibilities

  • Determine gender and quality of day-old chicks.
  • Rotate through separator and tray wash areas.
  • Assist in chick deliveries to farm operations.
  • Support sanitation team as needed.
  • Handle receiving duties and inventory management.
  • Participate in Inovo transfer crew when needed (Embrex); Saturdays included.
  • Work in egg room on Wednesdays and Saturdays when needed.

Shift Details: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 5:30AM start. Wednesday, 6AM start. End time variable based on production needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our hatchery team across various departments. The successful applicant will be responsible for learning and supporting multiple roles within the operation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Determining gender and quality of day-old chicks

  • Working full rotation in the separator area and tray wash areas

  • Support in chick deliveries to farm operations

  • Work with the sanitation team as needed

  • Receiving duties including inventory management

  • Working on the inovo transfer crew when needed (Embrex) Saturday’s included

  • Working in egg room on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s when needed

  • Other duties as assigned


What’s in it for you?


  • $21.56 - $22.56 per hour (based on progression)

  • All PPE is provided to employees (Boot Reimbursement of $125 after 3 months of service)


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices

  • Must understand and follow all Animal Welfare/PCP/Biosecurity procedures

  • Proven ability in current position (attendance included)

  • Must be committed to working as a team or individually

  • Must be able to work in small groups with minimal supervision

  • Proven organizational and time management skills

  • Problem solving abilities

  • Must be capable of standing for long periods

  • Must be able to lift 40 – 50 lbs. repetitively overhead

  • Must be able to work in a wet/humid environment

  • Able to work in a fast paced and repetitive task environment

  • Able to work varying & flexible hours until job complete

  • Must be available to work Statutory Holidays

  • Must hold a valid G license
