Job summary

Canadian North is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and revise Flight Operations manuals and related documents. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely updates to manuals and SOPs, with collaboration across pilots and engineers.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education required.
• Expert in MS Word.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good file management.
• Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card per Transport Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the primary objective and communicate hazards per policy.
• Maintain, update and coordinate Flight Operations Manuals and amendments.
• Produce QRH using FrameMaker and Boeing Rebuilder; edit QRH checklists in Visio.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for control of Flight Operations documents.
• Customize Boeing FCOMs using Adobe Acrobat.
• Control security of Flight Operations documentation and create templates for forms.
• Lead migration of SOP content to FrameMaker templates.
• Manage, archive, and distribute documentation in SharePoint.
• Update engineering/maintenance drawings and procedures; use Comlpy.
• Handle documentation tickets in Sysaid and contribute to workflow improvements.
• Support safety investigations and accident reporting as needed.
• Provide document development support across departments as available.
• Guide document owners to QA practices and ensure proper distribution.
