Job summary

Keewatin Air LP is seeking a Flight Coordinator to join a team of aviation and aeromedical professionals. You will dispatch and coordinate crew and nursing personnel while managing all flight logistics for medevac and charter operations.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Office-based with rotating shifts, you will support multiple departments and ensure safe, efficient flight execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Grade 12 (High school diploma).
  • Experience in flight coordination, dispatch, or crew scheduling preferred.
  • Strong customer service experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret aviation weather; NAV Canada knowledge is an asset.
  • Aviation background is an asset.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all company flights assigned to the base, including medevac and charter flights.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties to ensure safe flight operations.
  • Provide flight watch duties for medevac and charters from start to finish, including stops.
  • Act as a positive representative of Keewatin Air in customer interactions.
  • Provide administrative, operational and customer service support to other departments as needed.
  • Make informed decisions without compromising internal policies and procedures.

Keewatin Airhas been operating in the Arctic for over 50 years and has extensive experience providing safe, high-quality Regional Medevacs and Charters throughout Central and Northern Canada. Also known as Kivalliq Air. We are one of the most comprehensive aeromedical organizations in Canada, providing extensive 24-hour emergency air ambulance service.

Our corporate office and centralized administrative and support services are based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. And we operate a network of locations across Churchill and Thompson, Manitoba; Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and Rankin Inlet, Igloolik, Cambridge Bay, and Iqaluit, Nunavut.

Although we operate charter airline services, our primary focus is and has always been medical travel. Whether it is moving passengers on ourcharter aircraftor transporting critically ill patients byairambulance, we have made medical travel our specialty. Our air medical program is recognized as one of the best air ambulance services in Canada.

Job Summary:

The Flight Coordinator is a part of a team of highly trained aviation and aeromedical experts providing logistics and communication support for emergency medical evacuation and charter flights. The Flight Coordinator is responsible for the dispatch and coordination of all crew and nursing personnel while coordinating all the necessary logistics associated with the flights.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum: Completion of Grade 12 (High school diploma)
  • Experience in flight coordination, dispatch, or crew scheduling preferred
  • Strong customer service experience considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret aviation weather (NAV Canada) an asset
  • Aviation background considered an asset
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation Security clearances
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating all company flights assigned to the base, including medevac and charter flights
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all parties to ensure Keewatin Air flights are carried our safely
  • Provide flight watch duties for all medevac and all charters, monitoring the processes of the flight from commencement to termination, including intermediate stops
  • Perform as a positive representative of Keewatin air in interaction with the customer
  • Provide administrative, operational and customer service support to all the other departments and personnel, as required
  • Possess the ability to make informed decisions without compromising internal policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting: Schedule: Two-week rotation, alternating between day shift and night shift. Days may/will fall on holidays and weekend. Overtime may be required
  • Tools & Equipment: Daily use of desktop or laptop computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for audit reports, data analysis, and presentations
  • Physical Demands: May involve prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional standing or walking
  • Collaboration: Regular interaction with flight operations teams, and regulatory bodies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital.
