Job summary

Keewatin Air LP is seeking an Avionics Manager to oversee all avionics maintenance activities, ensuring TC regulatory compliance and adherence to manufacturer specifications. You will lead a team of technicians, provide technical guidance, manage resources, and promote a strong safety culture.

The role requires at least five years in avionics maintenance with leadership experience, proficiency in manuals and wiring diagrams, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of avionics maintenance experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of CARs, avionics systems, and maintenance standards.
  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, testing, and repairing avionics and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise avionics technicians and apprentices.
  • Ensure all inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, installations, and testing meet requirements.
  • Review and implement service bulletins, ADs, EO, and manufacturer publications.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections to maintain TC compliance.
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory planning, tooling, and procurement.
  • Identify and implement improvements to maintenance processes, safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Uphold Workplace Safety and Health requirements and safety management systems.

Job Summary:

TheAvionics Manager oversees all avionics maintenance activities to ensure aircraft electronic and electrical systems are maintained in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies. Reporting as part of the Maintenance leadership team, this position provides technical guidance, manages personnel and resources, supports operational reliability, and promotes a strong safety culture.

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years of avionics maintenance experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), avionics systems, and maintenance standards
  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, testing, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer documentation
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance tracking systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required transportation security clearances
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise avionics technicians and apprentices
  • Ensure all avionics inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, installations, and testing are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements
  • Review and implement applicable service bulletins, airworthiness directives, engineering orders, and manufacturer publications
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring continued compliance with Transport Canada requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory planning, tooling requirements, and procurement of avionics parts and equipment
  • Identify and implement improvements to maintenance processes, safety performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness
  • Promote compliance with Workplace Safety and Health requirements and company safety management systems
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Based primarily in an aircraft maintenance hangar and office environment
  • Regular interaction with maintenance personnel, operational departments, and regulatory representatives
  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities as operational requirements dictate
  • Occasional travel to remote bases and maintenance locations
  • Frequent use of computers, maintenance management software, and technical publications
  • Physical demands may include standing, walking, climbing access stands, lifting maintenance equipment, and working in confined aircraft spaces
  • Requires sound judgment, professionalism, and a demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
