Job summary

Airbus in Mirabel (Montreal area) seeks a Flight Control System Specialist to lead control-system development and integration across design, testing, certification, production and in-service support. You will work with teams in Mirabel, Toulouse, and Bremen, ensuring safe, compliant flight-control solutions for the A220 program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership within the aerospace industry.
• Experience in at least one full aircraft development cycle.
• Proficiency in design, integration, testing and certification of flight control systems.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 and DO-178 standards.
• Assets: ARP4754 and Part 25 certification knowledge.
• Experience with MATLAB simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of control-system projects.
• Evaluate supplier designs across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with program functions to advance development and certification.
• Conduct technical investigations and develop solutions.
• Prepare and analyze tests on the integrated systems platform (Iron Bird).
• Manage system design changes per the A220 change process.
• Approve technical reports including requirement validation and verification.
• Provide technical support to production line for flight control issues.
• Lead continued airworthiness for emerging issues.
• Support Customer Service with in-service investigations and corrective actions.
• Represent the team in supplier interactions.
• Support team in making technical decisions.
• Help team members reach their potential.
