Job summary

Pasadena Independent School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher to carry out lesson plans for absent teachers and uphold district policies. This role operates under the supervision of the Principal and Human Resources within the Human Resources department, on a 187-day term as needed.

Responsibilities include following prepared lesson plans, maintaining classroom order, and ensuring a conducive learning environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 30 college semester hours.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Experience with diverse groups.
Must be 21 years old to accept high school assignments.

Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans left by the teacher in accordance with district’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Establish and maintain order in the classroom.
Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment, and facilities.
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and school board policies.
Cooperate with school personnel.
Report to the principal or his/her designee at the beginning and end of the school day.
Perform other duties as assigned.
