Empower Simcoe in Barrie is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Flex Support Worker III to provide flexible, person-centered support across multiple group living locations within Empower Simcoe, at our Barrie locations. The Flex Support Worker will fill vacant shifts and respond to immediate staffing needs, with redeployment as necessary.

Minimum qualifications include a Developmental Service Worker diploma or equivalent, a valid G licence, and ability to work weekends and holidays.

We are presently accepting resumes for a number Permanent Full-Time Flex Support Worker III positions. These positions will be assigned to work in various Empower Simcoe group homes in Barrie, working up to 72 hours biweekly.

The purpose of this role is to provide flexible, person-centered support across multiple group living locations within Empower Simcoe, at our Barrie locations. The Flex Support Worker will play a critical role in filling vacant shifts, responding to immediate staffing needs, and being prepared for redeployment where necessary.

Compensation Package:

• Hours of work will include days, evenings, nights (awake), weekends and holidays, as required; working 12-hour shifts for a total of 72 hours biweekly;
• Minimum starting rate of pay is $26.48/hour
• 11 paid Statutory Holidays;

Following the successful completion of probation:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable equivalent diploma/degree in a related field as determined by the employer is required.
• Previous recent work experience in a community residential or social services setting providing support to people with disabilities is preferred.
• Candidates who have a completed degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people.

• Ability to work weekends and holidays;
• Ability to attend team meetings and training as required;
• A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is required.

Role/Duties:

Our Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities include providing support with personal care, household duties, meal preparation, finances, as well as supporting people to appointments and/or out in the community.

The Flex Support Worker must be prepared to be redeployed to different locations based on Agency priorities and emergent needs. This position must be able to transition seamlessly between different work locations and varying supports.
