Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Manager, Fleet Operations to lead strategic fleet and asset management across all locations, aligning vehicles, equipment, systems and resources with growth and efficiency goals. You will partner with Operations, Service, Production, Finance, Health & Safety and Branch Leadership to drive a proactive, data‑driven program, standardization and lifecycle optimization.

Required: 8–10 years in fleet management, 3–5 years in leadership; experience with large vehicle

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive fleet management experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing fleet operations, maintenance programs, or asset management functions.
• Experience overseeing large vehicle and equipment fleets within construction, transportation, utilities, industrial services, or related industries.
• Demonstrated experience developing fleet strategies, capital plans, and asset lifecycle programs.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long-term fleet and asset management strategy aligned with growth objectives.
• Establish annual fleet goals, performance metrics, and departmental priorities.
• Create and maintain a multi-year vehicle and equipment replacement plan.
• Forecast future fleet requirements based on operational demands and utilization trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet performance, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all fleet-related processes.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
• Develop standardized specifications for vehicles and equipment across divisions.
• Evaluate fleet utilization and right-sizing strategies to maximize efficiency.
• Manage budgets, capital planning, and cost-benefit analyses for purchases and upgrades.
• Provide strategic oversight of preventative maintenance programs and maintenance standards.
• Develop fleet performance dashboards and KPI reporting; leverage telematics for decision support.
