Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group is seeking a Maintenance Repair Analyst to strengthen fleet reliability, safety and performance for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role translates field insights into actionable recommendations and supports maintenance decisions across tractors, trailers and fleet assets.

You will analyze work orders, telematics, diagnostics and cost data to reduce downtime, optimize preventative maintenance and improve regulatory compliance, reporting, and lifecycle decisions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or a relevant technical diploma.
  • Three or more years working hands-on or analytically with heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of major vehicle and trailer systems and OEM diagnostics.
  • Proficiency with fleet maintenance software such as Trimble TMT, Dossier or comparable systems, plus diagnostic tools, spreadsheets and BI reporting and data analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel to terminals and maintenance facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Translate shop-floor insights into clear business impacts and share feedback with fleet and maintenance management and across locations.
  • Review work orders, telematics, diagnostics, inspection results and failure metrics to identify recurring component failures.
  • Coordinate structured investigation of complex, repeat and high-impact failures using technician evidence, fault codes, service history and engineering judgment.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance intervals, inspections and job plans using OEM guidance, regulation, asset age, duty cycle, condition and failure history.
  • Analyze maintenance spend versus replacement cost, maintenance cost per kilometer, improve warranty recovery, assess vendor performance and collaborate with parts teams on standards, inventory and sourcing opportunities.
  • Inspection/out-of-service trends; safety-action closure; complete and timely work-order data; adherence to NS CV maintenance and Canadian safety standards.
