Job summary

City of Powell River is seeking a Mechanics Trades II for the Infrastructure Services department. This full-time role maintains the City's fleet, performs preventive maintenance, inspections and emergency repairs to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The position involves on-call standby on a rotating schedule, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to manage service records and coordinate repairs, while adhering to WorkSafe BC standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma required.
• Red Seal Interprovincial qualification required in relevant trade.
• Class 2 BC driver's licence with air endorsement and clean abstract.
• Vehicle Inspection Program Authorized Inspector certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, service and maintain City fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain service records and parts information.
• Respond to emergencies and standby on rotating schedule.
