We are seeking a Full Time Fleet Manager at our Sturgeon, MO terminal.

Hours: Monday-Friday

Pay starting at $85,000/year

Position Summary:

To oversee all assigned shop and non-shop locations, including Corporate shop, and to lead the activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure that fleet and equipment is available, dependable, and safe at all times. To oversee the Preventative Maintenance program and ensure compliance with Corporate policies and Federal regulations. To oversee the coordination, planning, and scheduling of maintenance for company assets.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Provide leadership and direction to Lead Mechanics at all shops and ensure all work is done safely and efficiently by conducting daily lead calls 1 on 1 and frequent all staff shop meetings.• Monitor shop operational performance and efficiency and identify areas for improvement• Interview and hire maintenance staff to ensure adequate level of coverage in all shops• Monitor assigned Maintenance employees' performance and conduct all performance reviews and evaluations, Determine opportunities for training and development and ensure training completion • Communicate maintenance requirements to ensure compliance and implement corrective action as needed• Maintain the highest level of cost control possible• Track Fleet usage and maintain accurate inventory of equipment• Negotiate service agreements with parts and service in assigned locations to ensure cost efficiency• Approve and monitor equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs, reviewing estimates and history and providing authorization for repairs• Analyze and identify trends in road calls and break downs for assigned locations• Perform administrative functions as required including payroll, employee records, and preventative maintenance records• Collaborate with Safety Department to ensure the Safety of shop environment, vehicles, and compliance with all regulations. Completion of Site Inspections when traveling.• Perform parts inventories in assigned shops to aid in accurate inventories• Monitor parts usage and ordering and assist in transitioning stock based on needs to ensure uptime• Conduct driver meetings in assigned locations to get feedback, provide coaching and engage drivers in Maintenance practices• Build relationships with Terminal managers in assigned locations and work with them based on immediate and long term needs• Provide recommendations to Director in regards to equipment usage, specs, etc. • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Driver License

• Fleet Maintenance experience in the Transportation Industry preferred• Four year technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite• Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment• Strong analytical and decision-making skills• Must be organized and committed to performing high quality work• Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills• Strong leadership skills; management experience preferred• Excellent attendance

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Travel to regional terminals is required; Weekend and night hours occasionally required• Medium work; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently• Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur inside and outside; Outside work may be in extreme weather conditions • Subject to: standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching particularly for sustained periods of time • Subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level • Subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical working conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and exposure to chemicals• Subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases• Subject to standing for particularly for sustained periods of time• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operate machines and motor vehicles• The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eye
