Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in Corunna or Breslau, Ontario. The role reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager and prioritizes Health, Safety, and Welfare of technicians, planners, and inventory coordinators.

Travel up to 50% is required, with responsibilities for budgeting, scheduling, training, and customer relationships. The successful candidate will implement company-wide maintenance strategies, manage KPI performance, and collaborate

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operations background in maintenance and repair, transportation or related field.
  • Preferentially with individuals that have Heavy Duty Fleet experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership and personnel development experience.
  • Ability to create actionable items out of data and information.
  • Strategic planning, coupled with tactical execution.
  • Ability to work across business lines.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven success record in safety, employee retention and cost savings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Drive to achieve results and goals in the short and long term, taking action in a fast-paced environment to complete tasks on time at high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Managing all aspects of the maintenance hub and spoke sites in accordance with the region's business plan and budget.
  • Compliance with all human resources (personnel, safety, health and environmental) policies, procedures, laws and regulations, including SOPs, personnel manual, OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Meeting region goals, expectations and KPIs for area of responsibility. Provide performance management using the KPIs and goals for direct reports.
  • Providing guidance and approval of major repairs on company assets in accordance with approval guidelines and escalation processes.
  • Developing working relationships with internal customers to maintain and increase services, as well as managing the asset life cycle. Work closely with Area Managers and Branch Managers to support business needs and implement company-wide maintenance strategy.
  • Communicating regularly with all business owners to ensure business needs are met.
  • Developing relationships with health & safety, transportation compliance, human resources, fleet operations, and sales personnel to promote compliance to business practices.
  • Initiating and carrying out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated in a positive manner.
  • Ensuring all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained.
  • Communicating clear expectations and fostering a collaborative climate with peers and teams.

Fleet Maintenance Manager – Clean Harbors

Clean Harbors is looking to hire a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team in Corunna or Breslau, Ontario. The Fleet Maintenance manager reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager. This leadership role is responsible for the Health, Safety, and Welfare of Technicians, Planners, and Inventory Coordinators. This applicant will be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, training, safety compliance, and customer relationships. The Fleet Maintenance Manager works closely with Branch Managers to support business needs and to implement company-wide maintenance strategies including preventative maintenance schedules, campaigns, recalls, diagnostics, and equipment specification. This role requires up to 50% travel.
