Job summary

Clean Harbors in Ontario is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at Corunna or Breslau. This leadership role oversees Health, Safety and Welfare of Technicians, Planners, and Inventory Coordinators, and partners with Branch Managers to implement maintenance strategies.

You will manage budgeting, scheduling, training, and compliance with OSHA/EPA/DOT, drive cost-saving initiatives, and travel up to 50% to support regional sites.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operations background in maintenance and repair, transportation or related field.
  • Prefer Heavy Duty Fleet experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership and personnel development experience.
  • Ability to create actionable items from data and information.
  • Strategic planning, coupled with tactical execution.
  • Work across business lines; proven safety, employee retention and cost savings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Driven to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Manage all aspects of the maintenance hub and spoke sites in accordance with the region's business plan and budget.
  • Comply with all human resources (personnel, safety, health and environmental) policies, procedures, laws and regulations, including SOPs, personnel manual, OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Meet region goals, expectations and KPIs for area of responsibility. Provide performance management using the KPIs and goals for direct reports.
  • Provide guidance and approval of major repairs on company assets in accordance with approval guidelines and escalation processes.
  • Develop working relationships with internal customers to maintain and increase services, as well as managing the asset life cycle. Work closely with Area Managers and Branch Managers to support business needs and to implement companywide maintenance strategy.
  • Communicate regularly with all business owners to ensure business needs are met.
  • Develop relationships with health & safety, transportation compliance, human resources, fleet operations, and sales personnel to promote compliance to business practices.
  • Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated in a positive manner.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained
  • Communicate clear expectations and foster a collaborative climate with peers and teams.

Job description

Clean Harbors is looking to hire a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team in Corunna or Breslau, Ontario. The Fleet Maintenance manager reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager. This leadership role is responsible for the Health, Safety, and Welfare of Technicians, Planners, and Inventory Coordinators. This qualified applicant will be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, training, safety compliance, and customer relationships. The Fleet Maintenance Manager works closely with Branch Managers to support business needs and to implement company-wide maintenance strategies including preventative maintenance schedules, campaigns, recalls, diagnostics, and equipment specification. This role requires up to 50% travel.
