Job summary

The Sutherland Group seeks an Equipment & Fleet Manager to lead maintenance strategy across multiple sites in BC and AB, including West Kootenays and Kelowna. You will drive reliability, safety, and cost efficiency while building high‑performing teams.

Based in the West Kootenays with relocation support possible, this full‑time role offers growth in a team‑first culture and opportunities across civil, forestry, and heavy equipment operations.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years progressive fleet/maintenance experience
• 3-5 years maintenance leadership experience
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence and willingness to travel
• Journeyperson trade certification preferred
• Post-secondary education in related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance operations across multiple units and locations
• Drive a strong safety culture with accountability and continuous improvement
• Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime
• Improve fleet reliability and asset performance
• Analyze maintenance data and KPIs to identify trends and drive improvement
• Coordinate maintenance planning and scheduling to align with operations
• Develop and optimize maintenance systems and reporting tools
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships for quality and cost-effective support
• Ensure regulatory compliance and financial stewardship of maintenance budgets
