Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Commercial Lines Fleet Auto Underwriter to service a substantial portfolio of fleet auto business and uphold underwriting standards. The role welcomes applicants with 5+ years of insurance underwriting experience.

You will manage risk, analyze market trends, and negotiate renewal terms to retain business, while delivering strong broker relationships and customer service in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Fleet underwriting experience of 5+ years.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to independently manage a portfolio.
• Ability to guide junior underwriters.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Independent and collaborative work style.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Knowledge of RTM is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing fleet business.
• Assist more junior underwriters with applying corporate underwriting standards and share knowledge with others in the branch.
• Analyze reports to determine exposure and loss rating.
• Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.
• Negotiate renewal terms for retention of business.
• Utilize loss control and risk management practices in underwriting process.
• Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding policy file modifications.
• Work with brokers to develop new business.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships and manage assigned portfolio.
• Provide above average customer service.
