Job summary

GMS Canada, a subsidiary of SRS Distribution Inc., is seeking a driver to safely operate a vehicle for the transportation and placement of building materials at customer sites in Regina, SK. The role involves on-site heavy lifting, accurate load management, and collaboration with dispatch and warehouse staff.

Candidates must hold a valid Class 1/AZ license with a clean record, possess solid communication skills, and be able to work in all weather conditions. High school completion is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
• Basic mathematics knowledge is desirable.
• Basic hand tool skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and trades on site.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Safely operate a commercial vehicle for the transportation and placement of building materials at customer job sites. Assist with onsite deliveries requiring physical labor in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer. Prioritize personal safety and the safety of those around you. Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and trades on site. Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise. Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed. Verify load security and accuracy. Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers. Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

Valid Class 1 / AZ driver's license with clean driver's abstract. Effective written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Basic hand tool skills. Completion of high school preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. Sitting for long periods of time. Frequent climbing up and down stairs. Pulling, pushing, bending, and twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
