Job summary

Dilawri Vancouver, part of Canada's largest automotive group, is seeking a Fixed Operations Manager to lead Service and Parts departments, drive profitability, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will set strategic direction, manage budgets, develop marketing initiatives, and ensure compliance with manufacturer and municipal standards. Compensation is commission-based.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in high-volume Fixed Operations, ideally in luxury automotive.
• Strong customer service and CSI focus.
• Knowledge of domestic and imported vehicles.
• Proven leadership and people management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computers; CDK experience is a plus.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Position Overview

The Fixed Operations Manager is a key leadership roleresponsible for overseeing both the Service and Parts Departments at Dilawri Vancouver,ensuring operational excellence, strong profitability, and an exceptionalcustomer experience. Reporting to the General Manager, this position providesstrategic direction, leads departmental teams, and maintains compliance withall manufacturer, federal, provincial, and municipal standards.

The Fixed Operations Manager plays a critical role indriving departmental performance, enhancing customer satisfaction, and supporting the dealership's overall business objectives.

Compensation for this position is commission based.

Primary Duties and Responsibilitie

Leadership & Operational Management

• Supervise, direct, and lead all aspects of theService and Parts departments, ensuring operational efficiency and teamperformance.
• Maintain profitability across both departmentswhile controlling expenses within approved budgets.
• Develop departmental objectives in collaborationwith the General Manager, Service Manager, and Parts Manager.
• Prepare and manage the annual operating budgetsfor Service and Parts.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies toattract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislationand bylaws, including hazardous waste handling and disposal.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and direction todepartmental teams to foster a high-performance culture.

Service Department Responsibilities

• Maintain a high Customer Satisfaction Index(CSI) rating at all times.
• Oversee warranty compliance, ensuring accuracyand profitability in all claims.
• Interpret, communicate, and enforce manufacturerwarranty conditions and policies.
• Monitor the quality of repair work, ensuringadherence to strict dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Recommend new tools, equipment, and processimprovements to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Prepare and maintain labour cost lists forroutine maintenance operations.
• Reduce comebacks and ensure consistent deliveryof top-quality repair service.

Parts Department Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing, selling, stocking, pricing,and inventory management of all parts.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethicalpractices in receipting, costing, and selling.
• Track merchandising, marketing, and promotionalprograms for maximum effectiveness.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and maintainaccurate records of obsolescence, core returns, and exceptional orders.
• Ensure proper implementation of manufacturerwarranty ordering and return policies.
• Establish pricing parameters to generatesufficient gross profit for all customer categories.
• Reconcile monthly inventory and provide requiredreporting to the Accounting Department.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiatecompetitive pricing, leveraging all available discount programs.

Qualifications Required

• 2-4 years of experience in a high-volume FixedOperations environment, preferably within a luxury automotive dealership.
• Strong customer service abilities and acommitment to maintaining high CSI performance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the operation,repair, and maintenance of domestic and imported vehicles.
• Strong leadership and people management skillswith the ability to motivate and support departmental teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention todetail.
• Proficiency with computers; experience with CDKis an asset.
• Full Class 5 driver's licence with a cleandriving record.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
