Job summary

Eleonore Mine is seeking a Fixed Plant Mechanic – Process to join the maintenance team. You will perform routine maintenance on fixed process equipment, troubleshoot issues, and participate in safety and procedure development on site in Rouyn-Noranda.

The role requires a college or vocational diploma in mechanics and at least 10 years of relevant experience, with a driver’s license and bilingualism considered an asset. On-site, 14/14 rotation, fly‑in/fly‑out from multiple Quebec locations.

Qualifications

• College diploma or vocational diploma in mechanics.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fixed process equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues (hydraulic, mechanical, etc.).
• Be able to perform welding and cutting work.
• Complete work orders in the computer system to maintain records/history.
• Ensure work areas are clean and safe, following 5S standards.
• Participate in development of maintenance procedures with reliability team.
• Follow health and safety standards and report incidents.
• Maintain records related to equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate on projects/testing with external stakeholders to improve maintenance practices.

About the Position

The Fixed Plant Mechanic – Process is part of the maintenance team within the processing department. He/she is responsible for performing routine maintenance on fixed equipment according to established priorities and in accordance with best maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fixed process equipment
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues (hydraulic, mechanical, etc.)
• Be able to perform welding and cutting work
• Complete work orders in the computer system to maintain records/history
• Ensure work areas are clean and safe at all times, in compliance with 5S standards
• Participate in the development of maintenance procedures with the reliability team
• Follow and apply work procedures as well as health and safety standards
• Take part in departmental health and safety activities
• Report any incidents/accidents to the supervisor
• Maintain records related to equipment maintenance
• Collaborate and participate in projects and testing with external stakeholders to improve maintenance practices
• Perform any other related duties as required

Education and Experience

• College diploma or vocational diploma in mechanics
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset

Working Conditions

• Schedule: 14 days on site followed by 14 days off
