Job summary

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) seeks positive, enthusiastic individuals to deliver memorable experiences to our customers at the Fitness Centre. You will greet members, perform pass checks, respond to emergencies, and share information about policies and programs.

This auxiliary role involves varying hours including days, evenings and weekends. Starting pay is $22.44 per hour, rising to $26.18, with 12% in lieu of benefits; Emergency First Aid and CPR Level A are required along with

Qualifications

• Experience in a fitness centre or customer-facing environment is preferred.
• Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent required.
• CPR Level A certification required; Police Information Check is a must.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

You will be delivering excellent customer service experience by providing support to Fitness Centre users. Responsibilities include greeting customers and conducting fitness centre pass checks, responding appropriately to accidents or other emergency situations, addressing customer questions and concerns, and providing general information about the facility, its policies, best practice, and programs.

You have strong problem-solving skills and are able to respond quickly, calmly, and efficiently to emergency situations. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience working in a Fitness Centre is an asset, as well as previous experience working with the public. Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR Level A.

All employees should be prepared to work at any NVRC location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.

HOURS OF WORK:

This is an auxiliary position with varying hours including days, evenings and weekends.

HOURLY RATE:

The pay for this unionized auxiliary position starts at step 1, $22.44 and ranges up to $26.18 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
