Job description

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day-to-day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities :

1. Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department in partnership with the manager.
2. Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise directions and follow-up to ensure proper execution.
3. Foster the growth and development of team members through training on standard operating procedures and processes.
4. Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and system processes, providing correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager.
5. Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department.
6. Provide excellent customer service by identifying and evaluating customer needs and making product recommendations based on this analysis.
7. Promote company programs to team members and customers.
8. Maintain visual presentation standards, including in-store signage, merchandise recovering, front-facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming the sales floor as needed.
9. Respond to and resolve customer issues using good judgment and logic in problem-solving and decision-making within the job scope.
10. Assist in other store areas when business needs dictate.

Qualifications :

1. Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment is preferred.
2. Open availability required; this position involves working store opening and closing shifts, including weekends.
3. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
4. Ability to evaluate customer needs and make appropriate product recommendations.
5. Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer expectations.
6. Good judgment and logical decision-making skills.
7. Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle is advantageous.
8. Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's specific products is an asset.
