Job summary

Despres Fisheries Ltd. in New Brunswick is seeking entry-level fish processing staff to join our production team. No degree required; we provide on-the-job training and teach safe handling of fish and seafood in a cold, noisy environment.

You will perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, and operate canning, bagging or packaging machinery while maintaining quality and safety standards. English language is used on site.

Qualifications

• No degree required; training provided.
• No prior experience needed; will train on-site.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work in cold/refrigerated environments.

Responsibilities

• Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets and remove scrap parts using knife.
• Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
• Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products.
• Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products.
