Job summary

North Nova Seafoods in Nova Scotia is hiring for seasonal positions in a food processing plant. The roles are full-time seasonal with 25 openings and hours ranging from 30 to 60 per week. Wage is $16.75 to $17.50 hourly, with pay to be negotiated.

Work involves cutting, cleaning, trimming fish and shellfish, operating packaging machines, recording production data, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in a noisy, cold environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in seafood processing is an asset.
• Ability to work in a noisy, cold environment.

Responsibilities

• Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• Unload fish and shellfish from vessels and transport to the work area.
• Set up and operate machines to package fish and seafood products.
• Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack in ice.
• Clean work area and transport items through the plant as needed.

Tasks

• Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack fish in ice
• Clean, sort and pack shellfish
