Job summary

Alstom is seeking an assembler in Thunder Bay, Ontario, to perform precise mechanical assembly in line with engineering drawings and quality standards. The role includes rivet and sheet metal work, decal installation on sub-assemblies, and operation of portable spot welding equipment.

The position involves repetitive drilling, sanding, grinding, deburring, and routing tasks, with potential to operate other equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Capable of fine detail assembly following engineering drawings and QA directives.
• Works from drawings with minimal supervision and adheres to instructions.
• Performs rivet and sheet metal assembly and installs decals on sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, structural and electrical components per specs.
• Inspect installations, fix snags, adjust doors as needed.
• Operate portable spot welder and other assembly equipment as required.
• Perform repetitive operations on drills, sanders, grinders, deburring machines, drill sharpeners, routers.
