Job summary

StellerVista Credit Union in British Columbia’s Kootenay region is seeking a Financial Services Representative to deliver exceptional member service and meet retail sales goals. You will promote deposit and lending products, handle loan interviews, and process applications with ProLender while ensuring compliance and accurate records.

The role is a permanent full-time position across Castlegar and Slocan Park branches with a 36-hour week schedule.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma plus a minimum of four years related sales and service experience with a Financial Institution.
• Basic knowledge of retail lending procedures for products such as personal loans, mortgages, and overdraft protection.
• Experience with deposit and lending products and customer service goals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service to members and contribute to branch success by achieving retail sales goals.
• Promote and sell deposit and lending products and services to members; conduct loan interviews and prepare documentation for approvals.
• Process loan applications using ProLender, perform credit checks, and administer overdraft and delinquency programs for non-portfolioed members.
• Initiate needs-based referrals to staff specialists to meet member product and service needs.
• Resolve member concerns with loan and deposit issues and maintain loan files and records; participate in campaigns and provide support to staff.

Position Overview

As the Financial Services Representative, you will provide quality service to members and contribute to the success of the branch through the achievement of established retail sales goals and the application of member relationship management tools and techniques. You will support the promotion and sales of credit union deposit and lending products and services to non-portfolioed members including completing the sale of deposit products and registered products, conducting loan interviews for personal loans, mortgages, and lines of credit, and preparing documentation and associated recommendations for senior officer or manager approval. You will also Initiate needs-based referrals to staff specialists to meet member product and service needs. Plus, Processing loan applications using ProLender and conducts related credit and security checks, process loan payments and administer overdraft and delinquency programs for non-portfolioed members. You will resolve member concerns with loan and deposit-related problems and maintains loan files and records, administer estates. You will also actively participate in the execution of individual product and service campaigns, provide technical support and advice to other credit union staff in the sale and processing of deposit and retail lending products and services.

(This position is a bargaining unit position)

Schedule Description:

Permanent Full -Time – 36 Hours per week with the following schedule:

Tuesday: 8:15am-4:45pm

Thursday: 8:15am-4:45pm

Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm

Saturday: 8:45am-2:45pm

Additional Details: This is a multi-branch position with the following schedule: Tuesday and Friday in Slocan Park, and Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Castlegar.

Wage scale: starts from $30.29/hr - $35.87/hr.

Education and Experience

Do you have a secondary school diploma plus a minimum of four years related sales and service experience with a Financial Institution experience where basic retail lending procedures for products such as personal secured loans, RSP loans and overdraft protection requests are an ongoing requirement?
