Job description

What is the opportunity? As an integral member of the RBC Family Office Services team, your role as a Financial Planning Specialist is to work with our advisors to deliver comprehensive, customized financial plans to High Net Worth (HNW) clients of RBC Wealth Management. You will also assist with business development, opportunity spotting, and revenue generation.

What will you do?
  1. Prepare comprehensive financial plans tailored to clients' specific needs in areas such as financial, investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  2. Personalize each financial plan with expert knowledge on issues like holding companies, employee stock options, pension plans, retirement agreements, gift and charitable planning, etc.
  3. Simplify complex strategies to assist advisors.
  4. Collaborate with the Financial Planning Analyst team in preparing financial plans.
  5. Promote and support a work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, collaboration, and diversity.
  6. Develop strong internal and external networks and referral sources.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  1. Five years of experience in tax planning for high net worth clients.
  2. Five years of relevant experience in all aspects of financial planning.
  3. Professional designations such as CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA.
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  5. Strong analytical and judgment skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial planning software like Conquest or Naviplan.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-have
  1. Knowledge of investment and insurance industries is advantageous.
