Join a purpose-driven, results-oriented team committed to an inclusive, high-performing culture.

To keep our purpose at the forefront, we have rebranded our role to Financial Planners under Scotia Financial Planning (formerly ‘Investment Specialist’ in the Mobile Advice Team). Join a purpose-driven, results-focused, inclusive, high-performing environment!

As a Financial Planner, your focus will be on developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market. You are entrepreneurial, understanding that growing a practice involves building long-term relationships, leveraging external networks, and welcoming the freedom to grow your own practice. Your clients are your greatest asset, and your priority is to help them meet their unique financial goals through investment and financial planning advice.

You excel at building new relationships and enjoy meeting clients outside of traditional office hours and locations. You also value working within a collective Scotiabank framework that benefits both your clients and your practice.

Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will drive investment sales and new client acquisition, adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance, and regulatory requirements, while establishing business development opportunities within your assigned market area.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Promote the growth of proprietary investment business in your market by:

  • Business Development: Executing plans to attract prospects and serve existing clients, identifying new investment opportunities, and facilitating solutions or referrals.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Offering tailored investment solutions, conducting outreach, and performing needs analyses using various financial statements.
  • Community Engagement: Participating in local events and associations, delivering informational sessions, and building your market profile through networking and community involvement.

Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d Love To Work With You If You Have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Current mutual funds certification and MFDA licensing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Completed or pursuing a Personal Financial Planning (PFP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Proven networking and client acquisition skills, with experience building Centers of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, regulatory environment, and competitive offerings.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client meetings.

What’s in it for you?

  • An entrepreneurial culture with career development opportunities.
  • A flexible, fast-paced work environment with self-set hours and client meetings tailored to their schedules.
  • A compensation structure that rewards client acquisition and retention.
  • Access to advanced resources, including marketing support, mobile technology, CRM, and financial planning software.
  • Opportunities to build lasting client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Collaborative partnerships with branches and Scotia Global Asset Management.
  • A diverse, respectful, and inclusive work culture.

Other Information

• The role offers a base salary plus variable pay. It is a mobile role requiring frequent travel.
