Job summary

Kawartha Financial Services is seeking a Financial Planner to provide investment and comprehensive financial planning advice to members in the Peterborough area. You will develop modular plans, review existing plans, and deliver high-level guidance across retirement, tax, succession, and wealth strategies.

You will promote investment products, manage portfolios, and collaborate with our branch network to grow member relationships regionally. Travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance or economics preferred.
  • Financial planner designations/certifications (CFP, CFA, CLU, MFP, CMA, CFA, RRC).
  • Minimum of 5 years delivering and reviewing financial plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial planning components (management, risk, retirement, estate).
  • Active mutual fund license through CSC or IFIC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide members with investment and financial planning advice.
  • Develop and deliver modular financial plans with planning tools.
  • Review members' existing comprehensive financial plans.
  • Provide high-level financial planning across retirement, tax, succession, life protection, wealth strategies.
  • Promote and deliver investment products and services, including mutual funds.
  • Manage portfolios and monitor investment renewals.
  • Collaborate with branch network and Kawatra partners to meet member needs.

Job description

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday

Rate of Pay: $85,000 + a competitive compensation structure designed to reward high performance and exceptional member service

As a Financial Planner, you will:

  • Provide members with investment and financial planning advice.
  • Consistently engage in the development and delivery of modular financial plans, using software and tools to support planning complexity.
  • Provide members a review of their existing comprehensive financial plans.
  • Provide high-level financial planning services across retirement, tax, succession, life protection, and wealth strategies.
  • Promote, sell and delivery of all investment products and services, including third party mutual funds.
  • Provide effective portfolio management, consolidating investment assets. Monitor the renewal of maturing investments.
  • Contribute towards organizational goals and the growth of the investment portfolio by attaining individual goals objectives through the deployment of business and tactical planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the branch network and Kawatra partners to help ensure members financial needs are met and member relationships are expanded.
  • Travel in region as necessary to support wealth strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, economics is preferred.
  • A financial planner designation - Certified/Chartered Financial Planner (CFP), Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Master Financial Planner (MFP), Chartered Management Account (CMA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC).
  • Minimum of 5 years delivering, monitoring and reviewing financial plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of all financial planning components (financial management, asset management, risk management, retirement planning and estate planning).
  • Active Mutual Fund License in good standing through Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC).
  • Deep understanding of the wealth industry, competitive landscape and economic issues.
  • Knowledge of financial planning software.
  • Demonstrated passion for financial planning and helping others.
