  • Oversee payroll, employee benefits, RRSP administration, and statutory remittances to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and senior accounting staff while supporting their ongoing development.
  • Improve financial reporting through automation, standardized processes, and meaningful dashboards.
  • Monitor cash flow, treasury activities, investments, and operating credit facilities.
  • Coordinate annual audits, regulatory reporting, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee capital asset accounting and monitor project spending against approved budgets.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support fundraising, reserve funds, and donor reporting.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support cross‑functional projects that strengthen financial operations and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Progressive accounting leadership experience, including managing a finance team.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, CRA requirements, and financial reporting.

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in not‑for‑profit organizations, and/or fund accounting is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
