Since launching in 2007, Davidson has become a celebrated designer and his creations have been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle. Today, the collection can be found in over 250 select boutiques and department stores across the globe. Dean Davidson was nominated for Accessory Designer of the Year at the 2016 and 2017 Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards.

Summary :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in managing all aspects of financial reporting, payroll processing, tax compliance, and overseeing finance-related processes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success and growth of a prestigious brand, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities :

Payroll : Lead the full bi-weekly payroll cycle, including ROEs, statutory deductions, record keeping, and issue resolution.

Finance Operations : Reconcile bank accounts, manage cash-flow forecasts, oversee vendor payments and AR integrations (Shopify, Cin7), and perform month-end close.

Reporting : Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with insightful analysis for senior management.

Tax & Compliance : Handle all GST, U.S. duty, and other statutory filings; liaise with external tax advisers and auditors to ensure full compliance.

Process Improvement : Maintain robust internal controls, drive automation, and support budgeting and forecasting with the CFO.

Audit & Risk : Coordinate external audits and develop strategies to mitigate financial risk.

Collaboration & Leadership : Partner with sales, operations, and marketing teams for financial guidance and mentor the bookkeeper to uphold accuracy and accountability.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA designation, candidates pursuing CPA will also be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in a related role, preferably within the luxury retail or jewelry industry.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and expertise with MS Office Suite.
• Well-versed with RBC Express, banking platform.
• Strong technical skills with systems like CIN7, LOOP, Shopify.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location :

This is a full-time, 1-year contract position starting September 1, 2025, based in our downtown Toronto office. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
