About the role

As Reckitt's Financial Controller, Canada, you will play a critical role in delivering clarity and direction to financial operations worldwide. Guarding against risks and seeking opportunities for improvement, you will be an essential part of our team, keeping us balanced and focused on success. Your analysis will shape the financial health of our global operations and reveal opportunities for greater efficiency.

Your responsibilities

1. Ensuring robust controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively across Reckitt Canada.
2. Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and manage the reconciliations database for all Reckitt entities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
3. Lead Balance Sheet fluxes and reviews with group and external auditors.
4. Prepare & monitor Controls Scorecards, lead monthly reviews with Market & Regional Controllers, and lead remediation of any issues identified via KPIs/Scorecards.
5. Review and prepare plans & forecasts, collaborate with financial teams, consolidate & report monthly results, and proactively highlight risks.
6. Contribute to M&A activities, including transitional periods and integration, and manage the disposal of minor brands as identified by the business.
7. Ensure correct accounting treatment in line with IFRS standards and manage irregular transactions and processes. Lead monthly consulting reviews with Group Accounting & Controlling teams at headquarters.
8. Work closely with the Tax team to ensure accurate tax reporting.

The experience we're looking for

• Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 8-10 years of practice or industry experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience as a Senior Manager from a Big 4 Audit Firm or in a Head Office Group Accounting Role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal controls.
• Knowledge of Hyperion, JDE, and SAP is advantageous.
• Proven experience in accounting and reporting for an international organization, preferably UK or US listed, and in a related sector.
• Experience in other finance areas such as commercial support or manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax and reporting is preferable.
• Experience with Canadian payroll is advantageous.
